Give Your Idlis A Spicy Makeover With This Stuffed Aloo Suji Idli (Recipe Inside)

South Indian food is all about delicious and complex flavours that give a burst of taste. But one common thing in this cuisine that surely rules over everyone’s heart is the humble idli. The fluffy white idlis are best served with spicy chutneys and sambhar. The popularity of this dish has increased so much over the years that we have developed a taste for chilli idlis, masala idli, fried idlis and whatnot. You can easily make this for any meal or when unexpected guests arrive.


Easy Idli Recipes: How To Make Aloo Suji Idli | Aloo Suji Idli

To make this delicious recipe, first, let’s start with making the idli batter. Take some suji and curd, mix it well and leave it to ferment for two hours. Till then, crush some boiled potatoes and add masalas like red chilli, turmeric, green chilli, and salt as per taste. Finally, combine the aloo masala and let it cool.

Once the idli batter ferments, add some fruit salt and mix immediately. Then pour this batter into the idli steamer, fill half of the dish, and add the prepared aloo masala in between. Add some more idli batter from the top and cover. Let it steam till the idlis are cooked.

Once done, take them out and garnish them with ghee to enjoy!
